Constructed FNM (14/09/07)

Before I spill all the juicy details about todays weekly standard FNM tourney, I thought I would say a general HELLO to all of you, you know.. this being the first post and all.. Oki.. story time children..

Ok.. this was my first magic event in about two weeks and I was ready to get my hands on some goodness :P I didn't have an actual deck on me so I borrowed a deck from a friend. It was a mono black rack deck and it was pretty decent, he had ninja'd himself a top 8 finish at nationals with it, anyway.. the 3 rounds were as follows..

Round 1 : Ended up against Jean Paul, the guy who actually lent me the deck.. he was piloting some 5 colour control deck(alot of randomly good cards with an even more random mana base).. Game one involved him mulling to 4 with me on the draw, me using some random discard cards to get rid of his hand within the first 3 turns and just beat his face with some weenies. Didn't bother sideboarding in game two, he gets stuck with some screwy lands and I win eventually.. Wasn't a particularly fun nor challenging match but shit was it funny watching him squirm with a tendrils in hand and about a 5 different non-swamp cards that gave hm black mana xD

Round 2 : Came against some kid who was piloting a mono black deck with some serious ammounts of removal..
[TIP OF THE DAY] Terror and Grave Peril don't stop Phyrexian Totem or bob.. YA RLY o_0 !!

Round 3 : Another game with Bonnett, whole games of golf could finish in half the time it takes him to pass the turn with this guy.. He was piloting some random red/blue with random good cards like teferi and remand with stuffy dolls and lightning axes.. Yes, lightning axe..
The first game was a beating, he was left with no cards in hand and nothing in play thanks to a terror aimed at Teferi, while I had a rack in play with 2 dark confidant and a Phyrexian totem.. Game 2 Had a slow hand and kept getting my x/1's pwned by Niv-Mizzet, I think I lost a couple of brain cells too that match when some guy felt the need to share "LOL, HE HAS IZZET IN HIS NAME, I DON'T THINK THATS A COINCIDENCE LOL" >.-
Game 3 was a let down.. since we ended up starting as soon as the 45 minutes for the round were up.. Couldn't manage a win in the 3 turns I had..

Ended up coming tied for first and had a pretty good time overall, it is now one in the morning.. so I'm off to bed, I'll post information on the draft tomorrow.. Night night ^^
